As the editor of IMPACT 2023, I assigned and wrote content; edited copy; scheduled and managed photoshoots; conducted photo research; hired freelance writers, photographers, designers, artists, and a proofreader; and oversaw production, printing, and distribution. I worked with departments across Brown University to research and coordinate the cover story, feature articles, focus stories, and research briefs.
I added two new departments in the 2023 issue: Brown Invents, highlighting biomedical research with commercial potential, and Future Impact, featuring an interview with Mukesh K. Jain, MD, Brown's new dean of medicine and biological sciences.
The cover story, Discoveries in Aging Research, highlights the breadth and depth of Brown's research on aging across the University, from biology, biochemistry, and neuroscience to engineering, public health, psychiatry, psychology, and gerontology studies.
The 56-page print magazine is distributed to nearly 45,000 recipients and is available online at issuu.com
