IMPACT Research at Brown 2022
As the editor of IMPACT 2022, I assigned and wrote content; edited copy; scheduled and managed photoshoots; conducted photo research; hired freelance writers, photographers, designers, artists, and a proofreader; and oversaw production, printing, and distribution. I worked with departments across Brown University to research and coordinate the cover story, feature articles, focus stories, research briefs, and research index.
The cover story on climate change highlights Brown researchers taking action as Earth's temperature rises. The cover has a serendipitous origin—a Brown scientist was a lead coordinating author on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2021 report and worked on a figure of data showing the impact of global warming on oceans and ice sheets, while separately, an environmental artist hired by the IPCC to create the cover for their report had also created a piece inspired by the same figure of ocean impact, and that artwork is the cover.
The 56-page print magazine is distributed to nearly 45,000 recipients and is available online at issuu.com
